Kinky were discovered in December 1999 while Record Producer Chris Allison was working with multi-platinum Mexican artists Plastilina Mosh on their latest album `Juan Manuel', in Monterrey, Mexico. Their funky live sets combine sampled electronic samples with House and Latino-induced rhythms. KINKY was formed in 1998, and in August 2000 beat ten other finalists of the best in Latin American unsigned acts to win the LAMC (Latin Alternative Music Conference) Battle of the Bands Awards 2000 held in New York City. Shortly after, there was an unofficial Battle of the Labels as Kinky sought a recording deal, and after negotiations, Kinky decided to sign to Sombrero on Sonic360. They have just finished recording their debut album in Monterrey, Mexico, with Chris Allison behind the controls as producer, and are scheduled to release a Single in April 2001 in the UK.
